In Memory of Alison Steele
“The Night Bird” 1939-1995
Disc Jockey for WNEW New York, 102.5 F.M.
When the evening comes, so comes the darkness, but there was a beacon of light. She read us poetry and prose, sang songs that lead a path through the night.
About the Photograph
A Great Horned Owl named Alison, sits on a clutch of eggs in her nest constructed on the twisted and gnarled arms of a mature Saguaro Cacti.
Allison is not a rescue or enclosed owl, but indeed a wild owl and her mate, is not far away.
